Program

The concept of the  3rd Dance Education Biennale 2012 Frankfurt am Main is based on the structures and experiences from the two previous Biennales. With the theme, „CULTURAL HERITAGE DANCE“ the discussion about „Models of reconstruction“ will be continued and during the course of Workshops, Lectures and a Panel on the topic „Digital Tools“, this debate on interactive media, which arose during the first Biennale, will be further explored.  This coincidently connects and deepens the discussion on both of these topics.
Various formats have been envisioned and planned for the 3rd Dance Education Biennale, these include: PERFORMANCES, SYMPOSIUM, TRAINING, WORKSHOPS, AK|T MEETINGS
AK|T Meetings with representatives from the educational institutions and round table discussions with invited guests will take place parallel to the workshops. There are also jams and improvisation sessions, student initiated laboratories, THINGforums/meetings for all participants and parties in the planning.

FURTHER EDUCATION
In order to familiarise the participants with the theme of the 3rd Biennale, preparatory workshops for students, teacher and professors were organised in the participating Institutions.  Additionally, on the 12th and 13th of November 2011, an introduction to the workshop „Partnering through Dance History / Dynamic Relationships of Supper & Floore Barre“ was lead by Nora Kimball-Mentzos at the University for Music and Performing Arts / Mannheim Academy of Dance.

DOCUMENTATION / PUBLICATION
Documentation is one of the principal topics of the 3rd Dance Education Biennale and a comprehensive documentation of all activities during the Biennale is planned.
There will be a publication by Gabriele Wittmann and Edith Boxberger, who along with writing articles will integrate the press articles, materials and the findings of processes, which, have been collected from all stages of the Biennale.  Additionally there will be a video documentation by Andrea Keiz, which will be prepared during her Workshop and Valentin Fanel will create a photo-documentation.  This publication has been made possible through the generous support of the „Friends and Supporters of the HfMDK“.
