Andrea Keiz

After having graduated her studies in Biology in Göttingen, Andrea Keiz was trained as a teacher for dance improvisation. In that frame she learned about Contact Improvisation, techniques in contemporary dance and bodywork. After some years working in the field of dance, dance improvisation and performance, nationally as well as internationally, she began working with video. Since 2000 she now works in the field of video documentation of contemporary dance in Berlin. Until 2001 she mainly worked by order of the Mime Centrum Berlin, where she helped building up a database. She creates documentations of Festivals, clips of educational projects at universities, live video and photography works in performances as well as she is working as an artist herself. 2011 she started teaching video documentation in artistic processes at HZT Berlin (UdK / HfS) and she is mentor for student projects at UDK Berlin, where she focusses on supporting her students in questions of documetation and the use of video. She also teaches in the fields of dance improvisation, cognition and video/dance. In the frame of the workbook „Tanztechniken 2012/Tanzplan Deutschland“ which was published in the beginning of 2011 she added video and photography work.
