Shane Carroll

Shane Carroll

Shane Carroll has worked in the performing arts sector for 40 years, as a performer, teacher, lecturer, writer and consultant, primarily in the area of dance. After an international performing career with the Nederlands Dans Theater and Sydney Dance Company, Shane spent 20 years teaching for most of Australia’s professional companies, and various vocational schools. Over the last two decades, Shane has also been closely involved with funding and policy consultation (for both Federal and NSW State arts agencies), building network opportunities for the sector, planning for artists and arts organisations, and project development. Shane was instrumental in the founding and developing of the career management program, SCOPE for Dancers, and continues to support artists in a wide range of scenarios. Shane has a BA in History and Politics from Macquarie University, Sydney, and is the Australian representative and project manager for the Tanja Liedtke Foundation which was founded in 2008 in honour of the dancer/choreographer Tanja Liedtke.
