Edith Boxberger

Edith Boxberger, dance journalist, author and translator, studied in Munich (sociology) and in New York (Performance Studies/New York University). After having worked as a lecturer at the university she started to write on dance  - first in Frankfurt/Main, later in Hamburg  - for various newspapers and magazines (among others Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Welt am Sonntag, tanzjournal, tanz). She translated two books from Zygmunt Bauman (‘In Search of Politics’ and ‘Postmodern Ethics’). From 2006 until 2011 she worked for Tanzplan Deutschland, an initiative of the German Federal Cultural Foundation, and for the choreographic centre K3 in Hamburg. With dramaturge Sandra Noeth she edited ‘tanzhefte’, a project of Tanzplan Bremen and Performance Studies Hamburg. As author she contributed lately to the publication ‘Dance Techniques 2010 - Tanzplan Deutschland’, a research project on dance techniques.
