Vera Sander is director of the Center for Cotemporary Dance and Professor for Contemporary Dance at the University for Music and Dance Cologne. She teaches e.g. contemporary dance, choreography and performance practice. Aside from her academic activities, she also choreographs for and has danced with e.g. DANCE FORUM Cologne (D), Dansgroep Krisztina de Chatel (NL), with Itzik Galili and at the Semperoper Dresden (D). In 1997, Vera Sander founded the contemporary dance ensemble VeraSanderArtConnects and has received multiple prizes e.g. in the choreographic competition `dialoog cultuur / NL-NRW` and the German Video Dance Prize. She participated in the research project “Dance Technqiues 2010” initiated by tanzplan deutschland and is currently occupied with the establishment and development of study programs and presentation formats in the field of dance.
