Production conditions & Visions for Artists
Talks about CULTURE, HERITAGE, DANCE mostly refer to artistic techniques, aesthetic handwritings or significant dance historical works. Almost never the focus is directed towards questions about working and organisational formats that have specificly been specifically developed in dance.
As well, there is no questioning of the production circumstances of an art form, whose practicioners - after their education - very often are working freelance, in an economically precarious situation.
But do artistic production circumstances have to be passed on? Or can young artists configurate them in new ways in a triangle between funding institutions, theaters and their own artistic ideas? How important are teamwork and cooperations in „artist driven networks“ today? Can one live from working in the field of dance and if yes, how much mobility is asked for?
